Rollerskiing

Rollerskiing developed as summer training for cross country skiing. It allows you to ski without needing snow. The skis are much shorter and each has two wheels. As with on-snow skiing, there are two different styles – classic and skate.

The classic skis are a little wider and have a ratchet on the back wheel so you can push from one foot to the other. The same boots are used as for on snow cross country skiing. Similar poles are used, but they need different tips to cope with the impact onto the smooth tarmac skiing surface.
